6 – Confidence Only in Christ (Philippians 3:1-16) – Teaching Outline

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 5, 2026 by Bruce CameronFebruary 5, 2026Bruce Cameron
GoBible.org by Bruce Cameron

Introduction: Does the concept of righteousness by faith seem logical or natural to you? Not to me. Leaving aside my belief in God’s blessings, all my life I believed and experienced that if I worked hard I would succeed. This is not merely my personal view; it is also the teaching of the Bible. Thursday: Just One Thing—Knowing Christ

Men Running in a Race

Daily Lesson for Thursday 5th of February 2026 Read Philippians 3:10-16. What are some of the main points Paul makes in this passage? Surely there is nothing more important than knowing Christ, which guarantees in the end that He will know us and acknowledge us before the Father (see Matthew 7:21-23; Matthew 10:32-33). How do … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: The Faith of Christ

Man on Fence Between Cross and World

Daily Lesson for Wednesday 4th of February 2026 Paul’s main point must not be missed. There was a wonderful exchange that he experienced on the Damascus road, trading his old, law-based life for the presence of Christ Himself—“that I may gain Christ and be found in Him” (Philippians 3:8-9, NKJV). To be found “in Him,” … Continue reading –>

Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: The Things That Matter

The Cross As a Balance

Daily Lesson for Tuesday 3rd of February 2026 As yesterday’s study pointed out, the things that previously made Paul proud were actually hindrances to faith because they blinded him to his need of Christ. Paul uses the language of commerce, gain and loss, to describe his spiritual ledger prior to faith. Although we don’t like … Continue reading –>

6: Confidence Only In Christ — Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 1, 2026 by Corinne KnopperFebruary 1, 2026avatar

The great lesson we learn from dear Paul this quarter is that we are to  Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus! – Hymn 618. This is a beautiful theme hymn to give us a great reminder of what we need in our world that is falling apart these days. With our “Confidence Only In Christ” … Continue reading –>

6: Confidence Only In Christ — Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 1, 2026 by Michael FrackerFebruary 2, 2026Michael Fracker

Key Thought: Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” How can we be that light? Only through connection with the true light, Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world. February 7, 2026 1. Have a volunteer read Philippians 3:4-6. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
