Paul Writing a Letter to Philemon

Daily Lesson for Wednesday 31st of December 2025 We have no record of Paul ever visiting Colossae, which again tells us something about the effectiveness of his evangelistic strategy. First, it was Epaphras, a resident of Colossae (Colossians 4:12), who brought the gospel to that city (Colossians 1:7). But how was he converted? Most likely, … Continue reading –>

Have a volunteer read Ephesians 3:1. Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in … Continue reading –>

Paul Having a Vision

Daily Lesson for Tuesday 30th of December 2025 During Paul’s second missionary journey, shortly after Timothy was added to the team, they are forbidden by the Holy Spirit to continue across Asia Minor (Acts 16:6). So, during a vision of the night, Paul sees a man pleading with him to “ ‘come over to Macedonia … Continue reading –>

Paul in Chains

Daily Lesson for Monday 29th of December 2025 While in Macedonia, Paul mentions multiple imprisonments (2 Corinthians 6:5, 2 Corinthians 11:23, 2 Corinthians 7:5). The first recorded instance was in Philippi (Acts 16:16-24). Later he was imprisoned in Jerusalem briefly before being transferred to prison in Caesarea. Elsewhere, Paul mentions being “in my chains” (Philemon … Continue reading –>

1: Persecuted but not Forsaken — Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 28, 2025 by Corinne KnopperDecember 28, 2025avatar

The great lesson we learn from dear Paul this quarter is that we are to  Stand Up! Stand Up For Jesus! – Hymn 618. This is a beautiful theme hymn to give us a great reminder of what we need in our world that is falling apart these days. There are many times that Paul … Continue reading –>

Paul in Prison at Rome

Daily Lesson for Sunday 28th of December 2025 Philippians and Colossians are called Prison Epistles because they were written while Paul was in prison (the others are Ephesians and Philemon). Most commentators think they were written while Paul was in Rome, about a.d. 60–62 (see Acts 28:16). Read Ephesians 3:1 and Philemon 1:1-25. What is … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
