Wednesday: Habit – Keep a Healthy Mind, Body and Soul

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 20, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 23, 2018avatar
Healthy Mind, Body, and Soul

We originally were created perfect – mentally, physically, and spiritually. Of course, sin has ruined it all. The good news of the gospel, among other things, is that God is in the process of restoring us to what we were originally meant to be. Read Acts 3:21 and Rev. 21:1-5. What hope is found in these texts for … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: Habit – Use Time Wisely

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 19, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 23, 2018avatar
Use Time Wisely

“For we were born yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow” (Job 8:9, NKJV). You can stop a clock, but not the movement of time. Time does not wait; it keeps moving forward even if we stand still and do nothing. What do the following texts teach us about our time here … Continue reading –>

12 The Habits of a Steward – Discussion starters by JG

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 19, 2018 by Joyce GriffithMarch 28, 2018Joyce Griffith

1. The habits of a good steward. We all have habits, don’t we? Are our habits a quick way of making decisions? If so, is that their primary benefit? Can we have only good habits? If habits reveal our purpose in life, as our lesson points out, then what are some examples of good habits … Continue reading –>

Singing with Inspiration – Lesson 12: The Habits of a Steward

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 19, 2018 by Corinne KnopperMarch 24, 2018avatar

Hymn 372, “Lord, I Have Made Thy Word My Choice”  adds to the memory text for this week, Psalm 119:9-11. Our first good habit is to seek God first. This is reflected in:  Hymn 224, “Seek Ye First the Kingdom”. We may then add:  Hymn 539, “I Will Early Seek the Savior”. This will then … Continue reading –>

Monday: Habit – Look for the Return of Jesus

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 18, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 23, 2018avatar
The Appearing. Vintage painting showing the second coming of Christ to rescue His people.

Read Luke 12:35-48. What does this parable teach us about how we are to relate to the second coming of Jesus? Why must all that we do always be in the context of the reality of the Second Coming? Stewardship should be habitually practiced in light of Jesus’ return. The character of unfaithful stewards who act … Continue reading –>

Good News For Those Struggling With Bad Habits

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 18, 2018 by Phil van der KliftJune 5, 2018avatar
Man with Burden

You’ve probably heard stories or perhaps the personal testimony of people who struggled with ‘bad’ (or what I prefer to refer to as ‘detrimental’) habits, who prayed for God to take the habit away and then, suddenly, the habit was gone, never to return. While that is a fantastic experience for those for whom that … Continue reading –>

Sunday: Habit – Seek God First

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 17, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 23, 2018avatar
Woman prays i the presence of Fire of God.

We all have habits. The question is: What kind are they? Good or bad? Of all the good habits a Christian could have, seeking God first thing every day would have to be the most important one of all. “Every morning dedicate yourself, soul, body, and spirit, to God. Establish habits of devotion and trust … Continue reading –>

How I Got Out of Credit Card Debt

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 17, 2018 by William EarnhardtJanuary 12, 2019avatar

I often felt I would never get out of debt. I even considered declaring bankruptcy. After paying for things four times over, I considered writing my creditors and telling them I was not paying any more and they could just send me to jail if they wanted. I considered changing my identity and moving to … Continue reading –>

Friday: Further Thought – “Debt – A Daily Decision”

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 15, 2018 by Sabbath School LessonMarch 16, 2018avatar
Spectacles on Bible

Further Thought: Every natural ability, skill, or gift comes from God, whether we were genetically born with it, influenced and educated by our environment, or both. The important part of the equation is what we do with the abilities and skills we have. God expects stewards to learn to be masters of their skills and abilities … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
