Key Text: “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all” (1 Corinthians 12:4-6, NKJV).
Read in Class: Matthew 16:13-16, Ephesians 2:20, and Ephesians 3:5.
Study: What was Jesus’ role as a prophet, and how do all other prophets relate to Jesus?
Apply: Dwell on the fact that Jesus, the Creator (John 1:1-3), is also the one who died on the cross for your sins. What does this amazing truth teach about the reality of God’s love for us?
Share: Your friend says that he thinks Jesus was a very good teacher and that the Scriptures are full of wisdom, but he does not believe Jesus is the Son of God or the Messiah. What do you tell your friend?
Read in Class: 1 Corinthians 14:3, Ephesians 4:11-13, and Revelation 22:6.
Study: What do these passages tell us about the role of New Testament Prophets?
Apply: How have the prophets edified you? Are some prophets edifying you more than others? Why might that be?
Share: Your friend says she believes only the prophets who actually wrote in the Bible. What do you tell your friend?
Read in Class: Luke 2:36-38 and Acts 21:9.
Study: What do these passages tell us about women prophets?
Apply: Young, old, male, female—we all can have a role to play in God’s work. What is your role, and how can you do even more?
Share: Your friend says a woman should never teach a man. In light of Acts 18:24-26, what do you tell your friend?
Read in Class: Matthew 24:23-24.
Study: What does Jesus warn us about here? Why should we take this warning so seriously?
Apply: According to Ephesians 6:10-18, how can we shield ourselves from deception?
Share: A very good friend tells you she dreamed that Jesus is coming next year and that she needs to warn everyone. What do you tell your friend?
Mission: What are some practical ways that you can point others to Christ this week?
