5: Wise Words for Families – Singing With Inspiration
The memory text opens our singing with
Hymn 279, “Only Trust Him”,
Hymn 535, “I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus”, and
Hymn 524, “Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus”.
Wise words for families will make sure that there is
“Love at Home”, Hymn 652. We may then ask
“Lord, Bless Our Homes”, Hymn 654 with the result of
“Happy the Home When God is There”, Hymn 655.
Solomon’s words in Proverbs on Sunday encourage us to
“Yield Not to Temptation” in our older hymnal (pre 1985), if you have one of these. It is number 498.
Hymn 650, “Our Father, by Whose Name” asks a blessing on the parents of our homes that are studied on Sunday and Monday. A further prayer for blessing the marriage union is in
Hymn 658, “Heavenly Father, Hear Our Prayer”.
Tuesday we bring our children to Jesus so we may correct them with love:
Hymn 542, “Jesus, Friend So Kind”.
“Tis Love That Makes Us Happy”, Hymn 579 will show all those around us, the love of Jesus in our homes.
Once more, in closing out the lesson study on Thursday,
Hymn 655, “Happy the Home” will be sung.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
