6: The Sealed People of God – Lesson Outline
Key Thought: Revelation 7 is an interlude between the sixth and seventh seals. It tells us who will stand on the day of Christ’s coming – the 144,000.

1. Have a volunteer read Revelation 7:1-3.
- Ask class members to share a thought on what the most important point in this text is.
- How long are the four angels supposed to hold the four winds of the earth
- Personal Application: How concerned are you that the sealing process is going on now for yourself and others? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your relatives states: “What is this sealing process in having the seal of God in their foreheads? What is the seal?” How would you respond to your relative?
2. Have a volunteer read Revelation 7:4-8.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the most important point is in this passage.
- What is the significance of the number 144,000?
- Personal Application: Do you plan to be in the group of the 144,000, or do you plan not to live through the great tribulation of the last days? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: One of your friends states, “Why isn’t this text referring to the Jews in Jerusalem who will lead a great reformation among their own people to accept Jesus in the last days?” How would you reply to your friend?
3. Have a volunteer read Revelation 14:1-5.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- What does it mean for these people to have their Father’s name written on their foreheads?
- Personal Application: What does it mean to you that the 144,000 are without fault? Share your thoughts
- Case Study: One of your neighbors states, “What does it mean that these people are virgins and undefiled with women? Are they all male Jews who have never had sexual intercourse? What does this mean?” How would you respond to your neighbor?
4. Have a volunteer read Revelation 7:9,10.
- Ask class members to share a short thought on what the main idea of this text is.
- Why do some people think this great multitude is the 144,000? How does this agree with the context of this Scripture and with the vision in Early Writings where she saw two groups, the 144,000 and a separate great multitude?
- Personal Application: How do we maintain our faith in the face of difficulties and trials? Share your thoughts.
- Case Study: Think of one person who needs to hear a message from this week’s lesson. Tell the class what you plan to do this week to share with them.
