Babylon and Armageddon – Hit the Mark — 4 Comments

  1. There is a battle on the horizon, it’s getting very close. We can see the signs of it, hear the sounds of the raging war. Our family and friends are in serious danger. The enemy is getting closer and closer. Do we use guns, knives, swords? What weapons do we have? How do we prepare to meet the enemy? Do we have tanks? Do we wear armour? How do we protect our loved ones, ourselves? What are we going to do?
This battle is imminent. We cannot escape it. There’s nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. THIS battle cannot be avoided by hiding in the wilderness or the mountains. THIS battle is for our heart. Are we ready?

  3. “Is it true that the church can be most successful when it appears more like those it is seeking to win?” OH, this question is TIMELY, and pregnant with implication(s) …

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
