A New Song and A New Prayer

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 19, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord. Pslam 40:3 NLT My parents told me that one Sabbath morning when I was two years old, the elder kept praying … Continue reading –>

We All Need Each Other

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 13, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Psalm 122:1 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 Over the years, I have heard … Continue reading –>

Learning From Each Other

Many Faces of People

Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. 1 Corinthians 10:11 NKJV Are there certain Bible characters you identify with more than others? Do you find yourself sympathizing with Joseph because you’ve been bullied by your brothers too? … Continue reading –>

Why Heaven Needed to Be Reconciled to God at the Cross

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 26, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20 NLT Why did God need to make peace with heaven? This verse right here may … Continue reading –>

What if You Had a Conversation With Your Younger Self?

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 19, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar
Two Men

For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh. The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knows … Continue reading –>

A Mercy That Will Make the Earth Stand Still

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 12, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1 NKJV Psalm 136 goes on to describe all the many ways that God’s mercy has endured forever, but my favorite illustration of God’s incredible mercy comes from Joshua 9 and Joshua 10. The Gibeonites used deceit to trick … Continue reading –>

The Difference Between Cynicism and Lamentations

Mourning, Grief, Woman Praying

For my days are consumed like smoke, And my bones are burned like a hearth. My heart is stricken and withered like grass, So that I forget to eat my bread. Because of the sound of my groaning My bones cling to my skin. Psalm 102:3-5 NKJV Do all our prayers have to be upbeat, … Continue reading –>

God’s Goodness and Mercy Follow Us all the Days of Our Life

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 28, 2024 by William EarnhardtFebruary 12, 2024avatar

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; Psalm 23:6 NKJV” “A time to be born, And a time to die; Ecclesiastes 3:2 NKJV” Several years ago, I was talking to a friend who recently lost her mother. I had not lost my mother yet, so while being concerned for … Continue reading –>

Why Lucifer Needed to Destroy God’s Perfect Law to Set up his own Government

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 16, 2024 by William EarnhardtJanuary 28, 2024avatar

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; Psalm 19:7 NKJV Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. Psalm 119:97 NKJV It’s amazing to me how people claim God’s law was done away with when it … Continue reading –>

Beautiful Message in a Book of the Bible I Almost Didn’t Read

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 7, 2024 by William EarnhardtJanuary 16, 2024avatar

In my current personal devotions I read through the Psalms, and then kept cruising through Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. When I came to Song of Solomon I asked myself if I really needed to continue. After all some people wonder why such a book as Song of Solomon is even in the Bible. It’s a love … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
