10. Authentic Christian Ministry – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 31, 2026 by Robert NohrAugust 31, 2026Robert Nohr

“The conversion of sinners and their sanctification through the truth is the strongest proof a minister can have that God has called him to the ministry” -Ellen White. Does this refer only to evangelization and baptisms? If you think it is more broad than that, what else does it entail? Sunday’s lesson says “The experience … Continue reading –>

People Looking Over the World at Many Witnessing Opportunities

Daily Lesson for Tuesday 1st of September 2026 Read 2 Corinthians 5:11-15. How does this passage demonstrate that Paul’s ministry is Christ-centered? Paul knew he was supposed to render an account of his ministry to Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10). He knew “the fear of the Lord” and sought to persuade people about the gospel of … Continue reading –>

10: Authentic Christian Ministry — Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 30, 2026 by Corinne KnopperAugust 30, 2026avatar

Oh, the beauty of studying this quarter’s lessons. We will learn so much of the Love of God (and our Saviour, Jesus) which stands out in so many pages of this quarter. Trying to choose just one hymn for the Theme Hymn was almost impossible, but these ones stood out all through the lesson pamphlet … Continue reading –>

People Experiencing the Second Advent

Daily Lesson for Monday 31st of August 2026 Read 2 Corinthians 4:7-18. Make a list of Paul’s sufferings. How did he endure his sufferings? John Huss, the great reformer of the old Bohemia, once said about Jesus, “He is Master of the world, and we are contemptible mortals—yet He suffered! Why, then, should we not … Continue reading –>

Calvary - the Hill of Grace

Daily Lesson for Sunday 30th of August 2026 Read 2 Corinthians 3:1-9. In what sense can we be an epistle of Christ? Letters of recommendation were common in the Greco-Roman world. However, Paul did not bear such letters. The Spirit’s transformative power in the lives of the Corinthians was proof of his authentic ministry. Yet, … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
