The Portuguese-speaking group of believers in Brussels, Belgium, is small, but growing. It started as a Global Mission project, and it’s growing larger and stronger as it reaches out to the Portuguese-speaking community … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: Hope and a Future

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 19, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonFebruary 14, 2016avatar

Alexander Grinev I was a typical Soviet youth—ambitious and skeptical. When the Soviet Union broke up, I opened my own business. One day Natasha, my wife, met a woman who invited us to evangelistic meetings sponsored by Adventists. I had heard of Adventists and believed that they were honest people. So when Natasha came home … Continue reading –>

Sumakwel Laviña “Look,” I told my three teenagers, “we need to be united in our faith. We go to one church, and your new mom goes to another. But since you don’t like either church, then find a faith we all can follow.” It was a challenge, and I didn’t really expect them to meet … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: Internet Evangelism in Finland

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 22, 2011 by Sabbath School LessonApril 11, 2015avatar

A. Esansaari 1 A few years ago a friend offered me some CDs of sermons from his pastor. I wondered why Adventist pastors in Finland didn’t offer their sermons on CDs. It would be a great way to reach out beyond the church community as well as keep in touch with members who were ill or … Continue reading –>

Prescilla Canilang I live in Sydney, Australia. Like most Australians, I had read the Bible some, but I wasn’t terribly interested in God. At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
