Introduction: Some Christians find that living with others is difficult. Their marriage relationship requires constant work. They do not know how to relate to their children. Work relationships are generally unpleasant. Is this just bad luck? Or, if you constantly have difficult relationships, does this have something to do with you? Or is this just … Continue reading –>

Two Men Working on a Car Together

Daily Lesson for Tuesday 17th of March 2026 Read Colossians 3:22-25 and Colossians 4:1. What instructions are given to slaves? What principles are here for work relations generally? People today sometimes bring up slavery as a way to relegate some of the Bible’s counsels to the past, if not to discredit Scripture entirely. But, ironically, … Continue reading –>

Daily Lesson for Thursday 12th of March 2026 Paul’s concern for peace and harmony in the church appears clearly in the last verses of Colossians 3:1-25. At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
