Playing notes of hymns

Hymn 72, “Creator of the Stars of Night” reflects well on the title of this week’s study, “Worship the Creator”. Other hymns that use the name of Maker, rather than Creator, are:  Hymn 15, “My Maker and My King”,  Hymn 37, “O Sing, My Soul, Your Maker’s Praise”,  Hymn 57, “Now All the Woods Are Sleeping”, … Continue reading –>

“God Has Spoken by His Prophets” – Hymn 413 reminds us of the title of our Lesson study for this week. The call to justice is sung in  Hymn 285, “Jesus Calls Us” and in  Hymn 359, “Hark! The Voice of Jesus Calling”. The prophets did point to us all to : “Stand Up! Stand Up for … Continue reading –>

4: Mercy and Justice in Psalms and Proverbs – Singing with Inspiration

The most-loved and well-known Psalm is in Hymn 546 or 552, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”. The Psalms are songs of hope (Sunday) as is  Hymn 214, “We Have This Hope”, as is  Hymn 5, “All My Hope on God Is Founded”, Hymn 440, “How Cheering Is the Christian’s Hope” and  Hymn 522, “My Hope Is Built on Nothing … Continue reading –>

4: Mercy and Justice in Psalms and Proverbs – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 21, 2019 by Michael FrackerJuly 21, 2019Michael Fracker

Sabbath: A Day of Freedom – Hit the Mark

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 17, 2019 by Curtis HallJuly 17, 2019avatar

“The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27 To my fellow Seventh-day Adventists, defenders, and champions of the Ten Commandments, something seems to be wrong with our observance of the Sabbath. I know I am speaking to only … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on July 15, 2019 by Joyce GriffithJuly 15, 2019Joyce Griffith

The main purpose for God’s creation of Sabbath.  Is it hard for you to believe that the Sabbath came into being to celebrate the creation of a day of rest? Did mankind need a special time to mingle with one another in praise to God? Why? or why not?   Sabbath is a time to … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
