How A Proper Understanding Of The Heavenly Trio Keeps Families and Churches From Falling Under a Dictatorship — 4 Comments

  1. Amen. The question of whether God's kingdom is based on power or love will shape so many other beliefs and practices. I believe wherever we see abuse and domination in the church, bad theology is not far away. See Mark 10:42-45 for a strong contrast between these two models.

  2. Amen Christina. Reading the passage in Genesis in Thursday’s lesson, where God had Adam to name all of the animals just reinforced in my mind how God is not a control freak. God is not a micromanager. He delegates responsibility to others, and let’s them make their own decisions.

  3. Heya, this is article is good at laying a good foundation for the love within the gospel.

Do you have any resources similar in style that is an apologetic to the Islamic view against this God of love and the trinity?

    • Hi Jo, Muslims reject the heavenly trio as do some Christians these days. I do not know of any way to explain it to a Muslim any differently than anyone else who rejects the heavenly trio, but if anyone else knows of any resources please let us know. Thank you.

Years ago I did have a Bible study with a Muslim who of course did not believe that Jesus was God. I asked him if his house were on fire and his wife was inside would his wife think he loved her if he sent someone in to save her or if he went in to save her himself. He said if he went in to save her himself. I told him that if Jesus, God the Son came to save us Himself. He was God the Son who died for us and not just another creature God sent. My Muslim friend was impressed with the thought he said, but in the end still rejected everything I showed him. We will keep praying and working!
