Inside Story: Drinking With Villagers — 4 Comments

  1. The brother Minji followed the Jesus’s method.
When we eat and drink with someone, we capture his attemption and the heart’s door opens!

    • Did not Christ say, I will come and sup with you. Isn’t it interesting, He does not say, I want to give you a bible study.
Why? My life should be a representation of Christ.
“Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary.” -Francis of Assisi?

  2. “God has infinite mercy and compassion, and He has prepared a way of salvation for every person on earth.”

Yes, there is a way for every person, and God’s gracious will shall triumph as all shall finally be saved. “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Its not up to us to decide how many are suitable (none are) and whether someone is ready (not up to us). God has a thousand ways to reach humans, of which we know nothing.

  3. What an amazing story this is! I liked how he gave the drinkers copious amts. of tea, so they didn’t have room for alcohol. Perhaps they drank for comraderie and because originally, they felt their lives had no meaning.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
