Sabbath: Disciples and Scripture — 4 Comments

  1. (1)It’s good to understand the Word of God as a Christian so that we can differentiate Antichrist teaching (Luke 4:1-12) (2)let us now focus on what we were called to do. (To preach the Gospel and tell them the good will of God )if we dwell too much on what others are not doing according to Holly Scripture we might loosely loose the point of our Discipleship (preach the Gospel the way it is.(Matthew 12:3-8) the Ward of God have proved that it has power to us free from evil one, it has power to Unchained those who have been chained by Satan (act)

  2. There is nothing that worries me most than the fact I can be like the Pharisees reading the scriptures and following the Bible and still miss Jesus. That is why our focus should be on Jesus in anything we do whether keeping the Sabbath etc.

  3. Word of God is two edged sword cutting apart bone and marrow. Our Lord defended himself against Satan with scriptures and Satan ran away from him. No other weapon could be more powerful than the word of God. Christ is our best example to follow. If he needed it to be victorious over temptations, how much more do we need it ?

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
