The God We Worship

My husband and I were very blessed by watching this video by Dr Jo Ann Davidson, Professor of Theology and author of the 2012 Adult Bible Study Guide on Glimpses of Our God. The presentation focuses on the triune nature of our God, and we were really touched by the sense of awe and delight in God that Dr. Davidson projected in her presentation. (Cf. Ps 37:4) The presentation is almost 50 minutes long, so you’ll have to set aside a little time, but we believe you’ll find it worth it.

    • We thank you for your comment and suggest you watch this video and others on the subject of the Trinity and take your own notes. They will be far more valuable than any notes someone else makes for you.

      At the beginning of this video, Jo Ann Davidson says, “God isn’t honored by lazy thinking about Him.” That might also apply to asking others to supply notes we can make for ourselves while watching the presentation.

      You can watch all 13 lectures on the Trinity on Youtube on the Trinity Playlist. You can make notes as you watch and correct your notes as you watch again. At the end, you will understand the doctrine of the Trinity much better.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
