True, But…..

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 20, 2023 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2023avatar

A few years ago I was visiting family and friends in an Adventist community. Various friends and family members attend various Adventist churches in the area. On Sabbath, I decided to join a particular friend at his church. The sermon was on how we are not to judge others. As I sat and listened to … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: God’s Glory Fills the Earth

Holy Spirit as a Dove

Read Revelation 4:11, Revelation 5:12, and Revelation 19:1. What words are associated with the glory of God that fills the earth as described in Revelation 18:1? The great controversy between good and evil in the universe is also about God’s honor or reputation. Satan, a rebel angel, has declared that God is unjust, that He demands worship but gives … Continue reading –>

Wycliffe Translating the Bible

God has raised up a last-day people to stand on the shoulders of the great Reformers of the past with the Bible as their only creed, Christ alone as their only source of salvation, the Holy Spirit as their only source of strength, and the return of our Lord as the consummation of all their … Continue reading –>

Monday: Knowing Truth

Holy Spirit Dive Hovering Over Bible

Read John 8:32, John 7:17, and John 17:17. What promises does Jesus give regarding knowing truth, and where is it found? God’s final appeal to His people is to flee the errors of Babylon and walk in the light of eternal truth found in His Word. The key to everything is the Bible. As long as people stick … Continue reading –>

13: Ablaze with God’s Glory – Singing with Inspiration

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 18, 2023 by Corinne KnopperJune 18, 2023avatar

“Three Cosmic Messages” encourages us to  Watch, Ye Saints – Hymn 598 as we near the end of this old world’s history to witness the Second Coming of our Lord, and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This is a wonderful hymn to give courage, dear people, and is our theme for this quarter. We will note at times … Continue reading –>

Welcome to New Jerusalem

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6. What admonition does the apostle Paul give us regarding the last days of human history? The apostle Paul urged the believers at Thessaloniki to “watch” and “be sober” in the context of the second coming of Christ. And if Paul would say that to believers then, what would he say to us … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
