Sunday: Never Ending Witnessing and Evangelism

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 23, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar
People Receiving the Gospel

It must be emphasized, again, that witnessing and evangelism must continue as long as there are people who need salvation. It is God’s plan to save as many people as possible. Those, meanwhile, who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior are called upon to work with God in this soul-saving work. No matter who … Continue reading –>

Sabbath: A Perpetual Ministry

Read for This Week’s Study: John 4:7–30, Acts 2:42, 11:19–23, 2 Tim. 2:1–7, 2 Cor. 5:18–20. Memory Text: “ ‘What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds … Continue reading –>

Inviting Others to Join Your Ministry Have you ever heard of a one-man band? This is a band in which one person plays all the instruments in the band. The drum is strapped to his back and operated by a foot pedal; cymbals are strapped between the knees and so on. In the metaphorical sense, … Continue reading –>

Inside Story: Learning Lessons of Love

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 21, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonApril 11, 2015avatar

I had been assigned to a congregation in Cameroon that was facing a huge crisis. A man had given the church land on which the congregation built a simple church. But the land transfer had not been completed when the man died, and his widow wanted the land back. She took the church to court, … Continue reading –>

212 Degrees

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 20, 2012 by Lillianne LopezMay 27, 2015avatar

This concept is part of a big motivational campaign. If you work in education you’ve probably seen the movie and all the merchandise. I hear it’s very big in the corporate world as well. But, in case you haven’t heard it, here it is as explained by the guy who wrote the book and is … Continue reading –>

Thursday: Evaluating for Church Growth

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 20, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

The very reason why our church exists is the reason why we evaluate. We believe that the Seventh-day Adventist Church has been raised up at this particular time in earth’s history as part of God’s plan to take the gospel to the world. In other words, we exist to win souls for the kingdom. Read Revelation … Continue reading –>

Evaluating Evangelism

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 20, 2012 by Stephen TerryMay 27, 2015avatar

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15, NIV A paradox pertaining to the modern Christian church is that many want to evaluate the various ministries and activities of the church, but … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: Evaluating for Spiritual Growth

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 19, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart’”(1 Sam. 16:7, NKJV). Previously in this study guide we have … Continue reading –>

God Hugged Me!

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 19, 2012 by William EarnhardtJune 21, 2016avatar

“The Majesty of heaven, while engaged in His earthly ministry, prayed much to His Father. He was frequently bowed all night in prayer. . . . The Mount of Olives was the favorite resort of the Son of God for His devotions.” (Ellen White, Amazing Grace, p. 167) Jesus had His favorite place to meet … Continue reading –>

Key Thought : Our work for God needs to be evaluated in regards to the timing of the three angel’s messages for these last days.   [Teaching Plan for Evaluating Witnessing and Evangelism June 18, 2012] 1. Have a volunteer read I Timothy 3:1-17. A. Ask class members to share a short thought on what … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: What the Lord Asks

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 18, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

Read the following verses and then, keeping in mind the context of this week (the whole quarter, actually), answer the questions that follow: “ ‘And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve … Continue reading –>

Monday: Evaluate Kindly

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 17, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

While there are many benefits to evaluation, there are some pitfalls that we must be aware of and avoid. If we are overly active in evaluation, and mostly focus on the negatives, there is the potential to create a critical environment that will discourage and decrease your pool of volunteers. To avoid evaluation being perceived … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
