9: To Serve and to Save – Singing with Inspiration
As the Israelites forgot about God and followed so many other gods and nations, God remained faithful to them, with Isaiah and many other prophets working so hard for God to turn His people around, hence I will choose
Hymn 100 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness as a theme hymn for this quarter. Secondary to this we may use
Hymn 104 – My Shepherd Will Supply My Need.
In reading through
Hymn 191 – Love Divine, there are many of the attributes of which we study this week, such as receiving God’s grace and blessings, serving God, to name just three. Constantly trying to serve Him is in
Hymn 310 – I Would Draw Nearer to Jesus and
Hymn 311 – I Would Be Like Jesus. Ultimately we are
Seeking the Lost – Hymn 373.
The Servant Nation (Sunday and Monday) can include each of us in this time:
Hymn 256 – Ye Servants of God and
Hymn 597 – Ye Servants of the Lord.
Cyrus was anointed by God to carry out the prophecy given to Isaiah. We find in
Hymn 583 – You That Know the Lord verse 2, ‘living stones by God appointed’ because God anointed them.
Wednesday’s title of “Hope in Advance” immediately gives us
Hymn 214 – We Have This Hope. We could add to this one
Hymn 440 – How Cheering Is the Christian’s Hope.
If you do not know any of the hymns listed above, you will find the accompaniment music for each one at: https://sdahymnals.com/Hymnal/
Another great resource is for when there is a hymn you wish to sing, but can’t find it in your hymnal. Go to https://www.sdahymnal.org and in the search bar type a special word in that is in the hymn. I am sure you will be amazed at the help you will be given.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
