Being Creative in Reaching the Unreached

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 6, 2023 by William EarnhardtDecember 13, 2023avatar

Mary, an elderly lady in the Tampa First Seventh-day Adventist Church, where I served as a Bible Worker years ago, told me how she became a Seventh-day Adventist in the early ’30s in British Honduras, now Belize. She was school age, when her little brother noticed a huge tent going up in town. He told … Continue reading –>

Jesus Knocking on a door

The late evangelist Ron Halverson told a story of him knocking on a door one night in Harlem, New York. A young woman answered the door. She had grown up a pastor’s daughter, but had become a prostitute. The woman looked at the Bible in Halverson’s hand and said, “I’m not interested!” Quick-witted Halverson responded as she … Continue reading –>

Making Friends for Eternity

Jesus Holding Children on His Lap

Before becoming a pastor I spent almost 30 years as a Bible Worker. However, growing up I was not familiar with the term “Bible Worker” until I  found myself on a church softball team, captained by the new local Bible Worker. I failed to eat breakfast before running off to play. Not too bright. In … Continue reading –>

Pastors Who Do All The Work Aren’t Doing Their Jobs!

Christ Points the Way

A while back a lady went into the hospital for a few days. While she was there, a local elder, and deacon came to visit her. However she was released from the hospital before the Senior or Associate pastors of the church could come see her. After her release, she mentioned to me that none … Continue reading –>

11: The Bible and Prophecy – Discussion Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 7, 2020 by Joyce GriffithMay 14, 2024Joyce Griffith

Historicism and prophecy. Do you believe it is a blessing that Bible-believing Christians can follow an uninterrupted Biblical chronology of end-time events? If you do, explain why God chose a logical and time-based description of events from centuries before the first advent of Christ to the establishment of God’s eternal kingdom. How did God deal with … Continue reading –>

The Head of the Body Always Feels the Pain First

Sabbath School Net Posted on November 6, 2018 by William EarnhardtNovember 23, 2018avatar
A Father's Love

…Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. Ephesians 5:23 NLT  When you pray and tell Jesus about the trials of your day, do you ever stop and ask Jesus how His day was? Remember, while you may have seen one person being abused, Jesus saw every … Continue reading –>

Do We Have to Agree About Everything to Have Unity?

Sabbath School Net Posted on October 15, 2018 by William EarnhardtJune 24, 2024avatar

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3 NKJV Amos asks how two people can walk together unless they are agreed. Does this mean they have to agree about everything in order to walk together?  I think the New Living Translation helps to clarify the question: Can two people walk together without agreeing … Continue reading –>

The Gift of Prophecy

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 14, 2018 by William EarnhardtMay 24, 2018avatar

Referring to the latter days, Jesus in Matthew 24:24 warns of false prophets. Of course you can’t impersonate someone who is not real, so obviously Jesus recognized that the gift of prophecy would still be given out in the latter days. Joel 2:28-31 also tells us there will be those with the gift of prophecy … Continue reading –>

The Gospel Presentation

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 23, 2018 by William EarnhardtMay 6, 2018avatar

With this week’s lesson titled, “Salvation and the End Time,“ this is a good time to think about how we can share the hope of salvation with those those around us.  “More people than we think are longing to find the way to Christ. Those who preach the last message of mercy should bear in mind … Continue reading –>

“Send us Infinity People!”

Sabbath School Net Posted on October 15, 2017 by William EarnhardtOctober 25, 2017avatar

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 NKJV One night I was lamenting to God, about all the apostasy, and outright rebellion going on even in Christian cultures. As I was “interceding” for the “fallen” I felt the Holy Spirit tap me on the heart, and ask, What … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
