The Law Maker and Promise Maker

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 14, 2021 by William EarnhardtApril 23, 2021avatar

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one … Continue reading –>

Better Promises Make a Better Covenant

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 8, 2021 by William EarnhardtApril 15, 2021avatar

The story goes of a man who got a job chopping down trees. The first day his foreman noticed he had cut down only ten trees while the other men had cut down a hundred or so. “Oh well,” thought the foreman, “it was his first day.” But the next couple days went the same … Continue reading –>

In 1969, 7 -year old Niki was in the hospital having some tumors removed from her throat. While in the hospital she met Charita, another girl her age, who had a rare form of cancer. Niki found out that because of the cancer Charita would never be able to have children of her own. The … Continue reading –>

Will We Remember the Old Earth When We Get to Heaven?

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 23, 2021 by William EarnhardtApril 1, 2021avatar

A couple of weeks ago I was having a question and answer session with a 7th grade Bible class at a nearby Adventist school. Someone asked if we will remember this earth when we get to heaven? More importantly will we remember our loved ones? Here is what I shared from the Bible. First, it … Continue reading –>

The Great Exchange

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 11, 2021 by William EarnhardtMarch 23, 2021avatar

So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. Revelation 3:18 NLT I thought of this passage … Continue reading –>

Are we Saved by Faith or Works or a Faith That Works?

Heavenly Intercessor

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body. 2 Corinthians 5:10 NLT  Early in my lay pastor ministry I was working one night with the district senior pastor when he received a call that … Continue reading –>

I Don’t Follow Adventist Pastors

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 10, 2021 by William EarnhardtFebruary 26, 2021avatar

And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth. Acts 17:11 NLT  In Revelation 22:8-9 John the Revelator wanted to worship an angel.  What is interesting about this … Continue reading –>

Biblical Preventions for Pride and Narcissism

Lucifer in Heaven

While Jesus’ popularity was growing, John the Baptist’s friends felt a little slighted for the prophet. John the Baptist, however, said about Jesus, “He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.” (John 3:30 NLT) John knew that God had appointed him to be the messenger to announce the coming of … Continue reading –>

Trusting God’s Promises Alone

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 21, 2021 by William EarnhardtFebruary 5, 2021avatar

It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in princes. Psalm 118:9 NLT When you read this week’s lesson on how Ahaz sought support from surrounding nations instead of God alone, did it remind you of times you trusted in people and they let you down? It did me. I almost … Continue reading –>

The Invitation to Worship

And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote. Isaiah 29:13 NLT As I write this many Adventist Church buildings around the world are open for full … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
