God or Mammon? – Hit the Mark — 9 Comments

  1. Thank you Mr. Hall for a very refreshing & delightful introduction to this week’s topic. I really enjoyed the use of Peter in your illustration of God or mammon, as it relates to Peters exchange of gold coins for his master’s identity.

  2. Thanks my BROTHER for giving us a chance to grow by allowing us to express what we understand. Being lost in one Arena of my life and found in others reminds me of the lost sheep Parable story anyways to God be the glory and thank you for keeping it open where I can express myself I feel growth just being able to say what I’m saying

  3. Very interesting thoughts. As usual, you always bring out a personalized approach to the lesson that hits home. God bless your ministry.

  4. Thank you so much for pointing us to where our focus needs to be!
I’m looking forward to sharing this with my class this morning!

  5. I was really inspired by the story of Peter, from Peter’s experience, I have learnt that if I don’t have a love relationship with my Christ, I would be fail and I will be lost.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
