  1. Gabriel is the only named angel in the Bible. And interestingly, he is only mentioned four times. Daniel 8:16, Daniel 9:21, Luke 1:19, and Luke 1:26. He appears to help understand the prophecy, and to announce the fulfillment of the prophecy to Zecharius and Mary. The linking of these two events by the same messenger is an indication of how the prophecy is to be interpreted.

  2. These comments are very helpful in going deeper into the ss lesson..and l just love the comments by Corrine Knopper..as someone interested in music. .very helpful! Thanks

  3. Gabriel is THE Angel specifically named in Bible pages. But we know from scripture that God uses His Angels to perform missions. Matthew 22:30, for example. Numerous verses make reference to Angels even having participated in Creation, running errands.
Also there are reference of ‘Evil Angels’ cast out of heaven along with their Chief.
My Q…..?Are there specific number of Angles created? given that they don’t multiply

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
