Inside Story: Fwachi’s Faith

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 10, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonApril 11, 2015avatar

“I hear you’re attending the Adventist church,” Fwachi’s mother greeted her. “I hope you haven’t been baptized!” Fwachi stood silent, unsure what to say. She had come home from Zambia Adventist University planning to tell her mother that she had been baptized. Now what should she say? Fwachi had grown up in a Christian home. … Continue reading –>

Personal Evangelism and Witnessing Made Easy

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 10, 2012 by William EarnhardtMay 27, 2015avatar

If “one truth received into the heart will make room for still another truth,” 1 we wonder in what sequence the truths we hold should be presented in order to be most effective in our outreach. Our Sabbath School lesson on “Personal Evangelism and Witnessing” also asks, “Why should Christ’s substitutionary death always be at … Continue reading –>

Under the Influence

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 10, 2012 by Lillianne LopezMay 27, 2015avatar

Picture this: Two beautiful people sit on a beach, the perfect breeze blows around them. The seagulls call all around them. They look deep into each other’s eyes. They’re smiling at each other as though they share the best secret in the universe. The camera zooms in for a close up; the music swells and … Continue reading –>

A Prediciament Are any of the following involved in personal evangelism?1 Judy is sitting at her desk at home signing cards to send to children in the primary division for their birthdays. Matthew is working on a stubborn computer to get it to run again for an equally stubborn old man who lives down the road. Susan … Continue reading –>

Thursday: My Contribution to the Whole

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 9, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar
Hands surrounding a Puzzle Globe

This week we have been considering our personal mission field and our witnessing and evangelism potential. It is also important to grasp the truth that, because the church consists of all of the members, each one’s individual effort contributes to the church’s overall corporate evangelism. Are you aware of what strategies your church has in … Continue reading –>

Wednesday: The Witness of a Righteous Life

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 8, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar
Man Helping Another

Do actions really speak louder than words? Yes, immensely so. It is true, therefore, that while a message can be given through actions without words, an equally strong message can be given through words with actions. There is something very powerful about a message that incorporates both actions and words that are in agreement. To … Continue reading –>

06: Personal Evangelism & Witnessing – Teaching Plan

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 7, 2012 by Michael FrackerSeptember 9, 2014Michael Fracker

Key Thought : A personal witness is a testimony to invite others to take a closer look at the difference that God has made in our lives.   [Teaching Plan for “Personal Evangelism and Witnessing” May 7, 2012] 1. Have a volunteer read Acts 4:13,14. A. Ask class members to share a short thought on … Continue reading –>

Tuesday: My Personal Potential

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 7, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

When our personal ministries leaders call for volunteers to be involved in witnessing and evangelism, we often think that many people are more qualified and gifted than we ourselves are. Others seem more confident and capable. However, the Bible reveals to us that God is not necessarily looking for those who are the most qualified … Continue reading –>

Monday: My Personal Mission Field

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 6, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

When Jesus looked at the crowds of people, He was filled with compassion (see Matt. 9:36). Sometimes we may think that Jesus simply saw the crowd, but, in reality, He saw each individual that made up the crowd. In the same way, we should be aware of the individuals in the crowds through which we walk and in … Continue reading –>

Sunday: My God and Me

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 5, 2012 by Sabbath School LessonMay 27, 2015avatar

Our personal relationship with Jesus will have a direct bearing upon our success in witnessing for Him. It is so easy to learn some witnessing and evangelism formulas and then rally forth in our own assumed wisdom and strength. While God can still bless our efforts, we must ever remind ourselves that it is His … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
