Truth or Popular Opinion

Christ the Creator

And all the people who belong to this world worshiped the beast. Revelation 13:8 NLT Sadly many put their confidence in popular opinion, while the Bible tells us the vast majority of the world will worship the beast. Interestingly while Jesus claimed to be God, the majority accused Him of blasphemy and had Him crucified … Continue reading –>

Winning the Great Controversy in Every-day Life

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 7, 2024 by William EarnhardtApril 18, 2024avatar

Back in my literature evangelism days, I was sitting in the Oklahoma Adventist conference president’s office along with 4 or 5 other literature evangelists. We were discussing what one book, in addition to the Bible, we should be promoting for these last days. One person said we should be promoting books warning people about the … Continue reading –>

Why Satan Has to Gaslight You

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 3, 2024 by William EarnhardtJuly 23, 2024avatar

Monday’s section of this week’s lesson asks how we can keep from being deceived by Satan? Satan is a narcissist. Narcissists gaslight their victims by creating illusions that appear to defy what is true. Satan tempts us by creating illusions that appear to defy what is true. He has to make us doubt Bible truth … Continue reading –>

A Mercy That Will Make the Earth Stand Still

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 12, 2024 by William EarnhardtJune 26, 2024avatar

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1 NKJV Psalm 136 goes on to describe all the many ways that God’s mercy has endured forever, but my favorite illustration of God’s incredible mercy comes from Joshua 9 and Joshua 10. The Gibeonites used deceit to trick … Continue reading –>

Mourning, Grief, Woman Praying

For my days are consumed like smoke, And my bones are burned like a hearth. My heart is stricken and withered like grass, So that I forget to eat my bread. Because of the sound of my groaning My bones cling to my skin. Psalm 102:3-5 NKJV Do all our prayers have to be upbeat, … Continue reading –>

Why Lucifer Needed to Destroy God’s Perfect Law to Set up his own Government

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 16, 2024 by William EarnhardtJanuary 28, 2024avatar

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; Psalm 19:7 NKJV Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. Psalm 119:97 NKJV It’s amazing to me how people claim God’s law was done away with when it … Continue reading –>

How A Proper Understanding Of The Heavenly Trio Keeps Families and Churches From Falling Under a Dictatorship

Sabbath School Net Posted on August 30, 2023 by William EarnhardtNovember 11, 2023avatar

submitting to one another in the fear of God. Ephesians 5:21 NKJV Do you picture God as just one Being who is a dictator, or do you picture God being a heavenly Trio made up of three persons creating a community of love? If we view God as a single dictator then it is highly … Continue reading –>

Jesus over city

When I first became a Bible Worker I began studying with a young woman who went to a Methodist AME Church. She invited me to her church one Sunday so I could hear her sing in the choir. After the choir sang, a lady guest speaker stood up to preach and to this day, that … Continue reading –>

Transmission and Translation of the English Bible

A detailed view of various King James Version Bibles, highlighting religious imagery.

In this current lesson study sequence, we are urged to use “Scripture only” as the basis for our faith. Most of us in this forum probably take the Bible as we read it today for granted. We may argue over which version is best, but we largely accept Scripture as the basis of our faith. … Continue reading –>

Sleeping in While Jesus Knocks at the Door

Sabbath School Net Posted on May 6, 2019 by William EarnhardtMay 14, 2019avatar

This week’s lesson from the Song of Solomon reminded me of a passage in Song of Solomon, chapter 5, that could be compared to Jesus knocking on the heart’s door of the church of Laodicea. Most of us are familiar with this passage in Revelation: “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
