Trust No One!

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 2, 2020 by William EarnhardtApril 10, 2020avatar

Were you ever told that we only use 10% of our brain? I remember being told growing up that we only use 10% of our brain, but Einstein used 33% of his brain. I am not sure if this information was passed on to us as a way to encourage us to think harder in … Continue reading –>

Do We Go Straight to Heaven When We Die?

The Appearing. Vintage painting showing the second coming of Christ to rescue His people.

You may listen to the podcast version here.  “As for you, go your way until the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days, you will rise again to receive the inheritance set aside for you.” Daniel 12:13 NLT Notice the angel did not tell Daniel that he would die and … Continue reading –>

Strength in Times of Crisis

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 20, 2020 by Lars JustinenJune 10, 2020avatar

After having dropped out of college in my freshman year with a mysterious flu-like sickness, I struggled in US hospitals in Washington State for three months with various diagnoses that all turned out to be wrong. Finally at the end of May, 1975, I returned to Victoria, BC, where our family physician put me in … Continue reading –>

Jesus Watching a Man Reading Scripture

You may listen to the podcast version here.   “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:19-20 NLT When Jesus said … Continue reading –>

God Still Needs Older Folks

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 12, 2020 by William EarnhardtJuly 15, 2021avatar

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. Deuteronomy 6:5 NLT Several years ago now, my friend Jean passed away at the age of 94. She lost her husband a couple years earlier and then became ill with cancer. She was telling her daughter … Continue reading –>

The Value of Intercessory Prayer

Sabbath School Net Posted on March 4, 2020 by William EarnhardtMarch 14, 2020avatar

The answer to “How does intercessory prayer work?” is often given as, “I don’t know, but it works. When I turn on a light switch I don’t understand how electricity works, but the light still comes on.”  God does not use force, and I have heard that by intercessory prayer we invite God to make … Continue reading –>

The Cleansing of the Sanctuary in Light of the Cross

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 26, 2020 by William EarnhardtMarch 4, 2020avatar

When people ask me why Adventists do not keep the feast days, I tell them we do – literally! At the cross we had the literal Passover. Ever since 1844 we have been living in the literal Day of Atonement. When Jesus returns it will literally be the Feast of Trumpets. As Colossians 2:14-17  points … Continue reading –>

Could you be an Antichrist?

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 19, 2020 by William EarnhardtFebruary 26, 2020avatar
The Little Horn

As Adventists we understand from the book of Revelation that  the anti-Christ is the papacy putting itself in the place of God. Of course any system putting itself in the place of God is an anti-Christ. In 1 John 2:18, John writes,  “even now are there many anti-Christs; whereby we know that it is the … Continue reading –>

Please Send Michael!

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 14, 2020 by William EarnhardtFebruary 19, 2020avatar
Christ's Return

In the book of Daniel we see a lot of spiritual warfare. In Daniel 10 we see Cyrus in the middle of a cosmic struggle that affected the destiny of not only his personal life or nation but of the entire world! In that struggle Michael comes on the scene to help Gabriel overcome evil … Continue reading –>

Staying Humble After Being Exalted

Sabbath School Net Posted on February 5, 2020 by William EarnhardtFebruary 14, 2020avatar

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor. James 4:10 NLT Ever notice that Jesus did not rush over to the Pharisees right after His resurrection and tell them, “I told you so!” Jesus did not have a vindictive spirit. By the time Joseph’s brothers bowed down to him he … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
