Promises Made to Abraham Are Made to Us — 2 Comments

  1. Thank you so much William, for this inciteful reminder of God’s wonderful promises to US! YES US! We’re quick to forget, feel less than or unworthy of God’s blessings and favour. We’re so apt to believe the lies of the devil and those he sends to taunt, accuse and harass us. Instead of going to God’s Word, first, unfortunately, our/my own response at times can be/has been, fear, worry and needless anxiety. How grateful I am for God’s loving patience, care and understanding towards us, as he watches us stumble along in ‘our own ways’ suffering unnecessarily; all because of a lack of faith and the array of promises and blessings at our disposal, we fail to turn to in our times of need.

  2. it is imperative that even how deceitful and liar we are, God doesnt fail to fulfill His promises to save us if we repent through our lessons learned in life.

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
