We Need a Volunteer Illustration Specialist
If you have been enjoying our Daily Lesson posts, you probably appreciate that the illustrations add significantly to the attractiveness of the lessons and sometimes even add layers of meaning.
Jean Raphael has been doing an admirable job of choosing appropriate illustrations for some time, but he is currently busy preparing next quarter’s lessons for publication. Thus we are in urgent need of someone to take his place.
This job entails the following:
- Reading the lessons about three weeks ahead, becoming familiar with the post for each day and recognizing a dominant theme of the lesson.
- Picking out an illustration for the theme from GoodSalt.com (easiest).
- Or you may find an image in one of the sources listed in “How to Find Free and Low-cost Images For Your Blog.” The crucial thing is that we only publish images with permission. Thus we can’t just swipe images from social media pages or other sites.
You will be working directly with Gerald Greene, who posts our daily lessons. He’ll do the uploading, so all you’ll have to do is what is listed above and send Gerald the following for Sunday – Thursday lessons:
- Lesson Number and Title of Daily Lesson
- Image ID as listed at GoodSalt.com
- Title of image, as listed at GoodSalt.com
- Image ID and URL if not at Goodsalt.com
That’s only 5 images a week. (We use the image from the Quarterly for Sabbath and a constant image for Friday). You can work at this task whenever you have time.
Here is an example email for one week :
Lesson 2 – A Day in the Ministry of Jesus (Title of email)
Sun rhpas0131 Jesus – Calling Peter and Andrew
Mon blwas0002 Jesus Healing the Man Possessed With a Devil
Tue prcas2601 Jesus Heals Peter’s Mother-in-law
Wed jcgas0069 Night Prayer
Thur pppas0118 Jesus Heals the Leper
You will find all the information you need on the GoodSalt page.
You may volunteer for an indefinite period of time, or perhaps you can help us out for just one quarter.
You can volunteer in the comment section below this post, and we will not publish your comment. (To be extra sure, you can begin your comment with “DO NOT PUBLISH.” We never publish email addresses or personal information.)
However, if you just want to ask a general question that might interest others, we may publish your comment so others can read it too.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Sabbath School Net team!
