09: The Pre-Advent Judgment: Discussion starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on November 27, 2013 by Joyce GriffithMay 14, 2024Joyce Griffith

1. Good news. Do you ever consider how the visions Daniel saw compared with the movies and videos and amazing cinematography of our day? How did Daniel describe what he saw so that others could understand the sequence of events that would bring ‘good news’ to succeeding generations? Imagine you were Daniel and this was your vision. … Continue reading –>

08: Christ, Our Priest – Thought Starters

Sabbath School Net Posted on November 20, 2013 by Joyce GriffithMay 26, 2015Joyce Griffith

[Thought questions for Christ, Our Priest November 20, 2013] 1. We have a high priest. Would our church be accepted by more people if we had priests over us? Why or why not? Why was Christ inaugurated as the high priest after, not before, His crucifixion? Since Christ is God, how can you and I, being the … Continue reading –>

[Thought questions for Christ, Our Sacrifice November 13, 2013] 1. Substitution. Have you ever been a teacher or held another position where your work was essential that if you couldn’t be there, a substitute had to be found? [Thought questions for The Day of Atonement November 6, 2013] 1. Our High Priest.  Who were the only two human participants in the Day of Atonement? At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
