Sabbath School Net Posted on January 8, 2014 by Joyce GriffithJanuary 10, 2014Joyce Griffith

[Thought questions for Discipling Through Metaphor January 8, 2014] Introduction. This week’s lesson may tweak your creative instincts searching for the connection between the topic for each day and the material presented. Sabbath School Net Posted on January 6, 2014 by Curtis HallJanuary 6, 2014avatar

Seven miles had never appeared as long as they did that day. Just a few days before, the two friends had expected that their journey home would be joyful and full of good memories. But instead of recounting tales of fellowship and feasts, they were downcast and sad. Unexpected tragedy had replaced all celebration. Now … Continue reading –>

[Thought questions for Disciples and Scripture January 1, 2014] 1. 01: Disciples and Scripture

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 29, 2013 by Curtis HallJanuary 2, 2014avatar

With sincerity he had asked the question to which his mind desperately needed an answer. His question, though sincere, was also a potential trap the religious leaders were hoping to use to justify their malice … Continue reading –>

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 25, 2013 by Joyce GriffithDecember 27, 2013Joyce Griffith

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
