The Reformation Continues Until the Whole Earth Sees the Goodness of God

On 31 October 1517, Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg church. Hence, 31 October has become known as Reformation Day. Regarding the Reformation, this is one of my favorite passages in Revelation, After these things, I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth … Continue reading –>

Jesus to the Rescue!

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 17, 2025 by William EarnhardtApril 22, 2025avatar
Jesus on White Horse

Many have seen the movies and read books to children about the knight in shining armor who comes and saves the damsel in distress. As we read we dream of someone caring for us the way the knight cares for the damsel. Would anyone ever pursue us with such desire? What if I told you, that someone … Continue reading –>

Christ Is Coming!

Sabbath School Net Posted on January 14, 2019 by Linda MkhwanaziFebruary 13, 2019avatar
Glorious 2nd Advent

Between 2000 & 2019 I have probably heard of six dates where Christ was expected to come. I remember vividly how loud it was after 12 midnight on the first of January 2013. Celebration and relief were in the air and people were screaming, “We made it!” The idea that the world would end in … Continue reading –>

So…Is The Second Coming Still On?

Sabbath School Net Posted on December 23, 2018 by William EarnhardtDecember 31, 2018avatar
Second Coming by Steve Creitz

After more than 170 years of preaching the Second Coming, one important question comes to mind for Seventh-day Adventists. Is the Second Coming still on? Are we still planning on it? Is it still a part of who we are? Growing up as a Seventh-day Adventist I heard people talk about how Jesus was surely coming in … Continue reading –>

I Am Living in My Last Days

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 18, 2018 by William EarnhardtApril 23, 2018avatar

In 1979 when I was 14, I received a letter from the Tulsa Roughnecks major league soccer (football) team, asking me to renew my season tickets for the 1980 season. I could not believe my eyes. There it was – “1980” in print! Growing up Seventh-day Adventist, I was told we were in the “last days.” The … Continue reading –>

Be Ready Always

Sabbath School Net Posted on April 6, 2018 by Linda MkhwanaziJanuary 12, 2019avatar

During an April holiday some years ago, I was house-sitting for Mrs. Brown* (pseudonym for my mother’s employer). Since this was my usual holiday job, I knew the rules around the house. The April holidays in South Africa are very short – just a mini break from school and work. On a Friday evening, a week … Continue reading –>

Eden Restored

Sabbath School Net Posted on November 9, 2017 by William EarnhardtJanuary 19, 2018avatar

As a child on family vacations, I loved standing on the ocean’s shore, imagining what lay on the other side. I would watch the waves roll in from who knows how far away. I would see ships sailing for far-away lands that I could only dream about.  After I grew up and became very busy, … Continue reading –>

“Occupy Till I Come”

Sabbath School Net Posted on September 21, 2016 by William EarnhardtOctober 24, 2017avatar

I was running my shift at UPS early one morning, trying to beat the clock, as we loaded the package cars, and prepared them for their busy day. In the midst of our hustle and bustle an alarm sounded. A sorter spotted flames on a conveyor belt. We safely evacuated the building and made sure everyone … Continue reading –>

When Prayer Doesn’t Move Mountians

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 19, 2016 by William EarnhardtJuly 17, 2016avatar

“For most of us the prayer in Gethsemane is the only model. Removing mountains can wait.” -C.S. Lewis I was told a couple Fridays ago that my mother, my biggest champion and one of the biggest prayer warriors in my ministry had less than 30 days to live. She had been in poor health for … Continue reading –>

The Bible Truth About the Rapture

Sabbath School Net Posted on June 9, 2016 by William EarnhardtJune 2, 2018avatar

“Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.” Matthew 24:40-41 NLT Many people have used this passage to suggest a secret rapture, where people will suddenly just disappear and be taken … Continue reading –>

At a camp meeting 40 years later, I happened to see Dr. I. demonstrating some kind of health product, if I remember correctly. (In my mind, I see only the image of him, much older, but still looking much like he did when I was a student, with a friend by my side.) I lingered a little but did not introduce myself. I briefly wondered whether he recognized me. I’m fairly sure that I was as recognizable to him as he was to me.

Had he changed? Or did he still feel superior in his “humility”? Should I talk to him? I didn’t know how to approach him, and was busy with friends. I still don’t know whether I should have said something. (Maybe I’m just a coward.)

If God wants him to see my story, his and my identity are clear enough in this post, that God can direct him to it.
