You may download the full lesson quarterly for studying The Promise: God’s Everlasting Covenant  from Amazon in Kindle format. This study guide is based on a 1982 Bible  Study Guide written by Gerhard Hasel, who, at the time of his death was known as a widely recognized scholar,  serving as the first John Nevins Andrews Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology and as director of the Ph.D. and Th.D. programs at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary on the campus of Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, Michigan. The study guide has been updated and revised by the author  and a committee representing the various world divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. You can read about how this lesson quarterly was developed in the Adventist Theological Society Journal

You can order a paper copy of the lesson quarterly as well as resource books from the Adventist Book Center

The Bible Bookshelf companion book, The Promise: God’s Everlasting Covenant, by Gerhard F. Hasel and Michael G. Hasel is  a revision of Gerhard Hasel’s  Covenant in Blood, an Adventist classic previously published in 1982.

Click here for an interesting life sketch of Dr Frank Hasel, who was born in Vienna, Austria, on July 27, 1935, the third and next-to-youngest child of Franz Joseph and Helene Hasel. Cover of A Thousand Shall Fall(His siblings were Michael, Melissa, and Marlena.) He became a widely-known scholar and an active leader in his local church.

As a child, Gerhard spent the war years, 1939-1945, in or near Frankfurt, Germany. His father, a Seventh-day Adventist minister and literature evangelist, was early drafted into the Wehrmacht and assigned to the Russian front. You can read the inspiring and often electrifying story of Franz Hasel in the German Army in World War II written by his younger sister, Susi, in A Thousand Shall Fall by Susi Hasel Mundy. (Available in Kindle, Paperback and Hardcover editions. You might not opt for the hardcover though, at over $1,000.00)
