Pray to Have a Love for the Truth — 5 Comments

  1. "We only fall for lies and deceptions after we reject the truth."

Amen, pastor William. This powerful post packed a punch. (Alliteration intended). Thank you so much for messages that do not mollycoddle and only make us feel warm and fuzzy in JESUS’ love. You have in no uncertain way reminded, nay, alerted and warned me that l really have no excuse to sin, and when l do, it’s because l actually want to. And to add insult to injury, I wound my loving Saviour afresh by trying to justify myself with weak, insipid excuses. Your prayer for us has also become my prayer: To love and embrace the truth at all times. GOD continually and abundantly bless you in your life and ministry.

  2. "After all, the pastor/elder and other Christians are doing no better. What can I... ?" "This preacher takes long." "This content is too much to read; I will read it later when I have time." "If it had not been for..."

Have I ever reasoned like that? What about you? While we pray for love of truth, these verses helped me. Take them also.

"And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our hearts condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God". 1 John 3:19-21

    Here is also Galatians 2:17.

"But if, while we seek to be justified, we our ounselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid."

    Yet, 1 Peter 4:17 says:

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God [the church]."

First Timothy 3:15 is there because I divert my intellect to wrest Scripture to fit my Laodicean 'I have need of nothing' attitude. God help me love the truth. Amen

  3. Thanks BIG pastor William Earnhardt
This article has give me (hope also many others) a clear explanation of deception.
The "surly you will not die" lie was not profen, twas Just a lie that got a listener.
I was struggling too much to know why anti-Adventist don't give convincing proof, yet a category follows, it's the deceiving yourself.
    Thanks again , live long,

  4. The enemy strategy has been the same from the start of the great controversy: deception, delusion, and destruction. He makes belief lies selling us fillings of well-being and then taking us to ruin. We can see all around us the effect of falling for his lies. Jesus said, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” NIV

Let's stick to the truth and don't listen to Jesus's enemy whichever way he adopts; a snake, an angel of light, or any other form

  5. Amen Pastor William

The same problem existed in the church in Moses time, and has been the problem ever since with the fallen nature that we inherited from our father Adam, as stated here,

Deuteronomy 12: 8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

But thank goodness for the first promise in

Gen 3: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

And now we can with, and like, Jesus respond to temptation with this truth,

Job 28: 28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
